New Magazine Lounge at Tutt

For your reading and relaxation pleasure, Tutt Library now has a Magazine Lounge in the 2nd floor atrium area. Here we have gathered dozens of popular magazine titles, from the New Yorker to People, from Maxim to Essence. There is also an assortment of local zines. We surveyed students and asked what popular magazines you would like to see at the library, and ordered several new titles, including Outside, Cosmopolitan, Martha Stewart Living, and Vibe. There are comfy chairs to lounge on as you take a quick study break. Watch for a grand opening celebration soon!

Weekend hours at CAT Lab in the Learning Commons

Jan Enright, the CC Lab Services Coordinator, tells us that by popular demand, the Computer & Advanced Technology (CAT) Lab in the Learning Commons of Tutt Library and the Barnes PC Lab will be open on Saturdays on a trial basis.

The labs will be open on the first three Saturday afternoons of the block from noon - 5:00 p.m, starting Saturday, January 28.

Lunch & Learn Thu. 1/26: Social Software

Social software is not just for finding a date. "Social software" means web-based applications for building community, collaborative work, and having fun. We'll look at examples from MySpace to del.icio.us (sharing WWW bookmarks) to Flickr (photo sharing) to wikis and Writeboard (shared workspace).

Study late! Tutt open until 2AM most nights

Beginning on January 23, Tutt Library will offer extended hours Sunday - Thursday nights from midnight to 2:00 AM.

After midnight, the library will only be open to CC students with a Gold Card, so make sure you have yours with you.

Chas will also be serving coffee until 11:00 PM, so grab a cappucino and settle down for a long night. This is a trial service for the spring semester. Let us know what you think!
