Chinese Calligraphy Exhibit

chinese.jpg
Chinese calligraphy and painting has been an essential art form in the nation of China for thousands of years. Since its original inception more than two thousand years ago, five styles of writing have developed which are all still in use today. CC senior Chelsea Kuiper's exhibition, "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" represents a collection of Chinese sayings and poems written in these script styles using the traditional materials of ink and rice paper.

In addition, the exhibition includes several Chinese-style still life paintings of bamboo and orchids.

Come check out this exhibition on the second floor of Tutt Library, which will be on view from now until May 20. See more photos of the exhibition on Flickr.
