We are switching link resolvers in the next few days. This means you'll see a different look when searching by journal title or linking between resources. There may be some time lag while some pieces of the system catch up - remember you can check Tiger to look up electronic journal holdings and links.
Why make this change?
- Price - we get Gold Rush as part of our membership in the Colorado Alliance for Research Libraries consortium. By dropping SFX, we save money that can be spent on other resources.
- Accuracy in large journal packages - we get many of our large journal packages through the Alliance, such as ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Journal Library, and Sage. The official title lists are loaded into Gold Rush, and we can take advantage of these first-hand lists.
- Fast response from the vendor - Gold Rush is operated by Alliance staff whom we have frequent contact with, often face-to-face. We can get quicker, personalized service from the Alliance than from a large corporation.
- Reusability of data - Gold Rush allows us to re-purpose our journal and database information, by making data available to us in XML format. This allows us to design and present new services.
