Tutt Library's ninth annual haiku contest has come to a close. Our three wonderful winners were selected via blind judging by library staff and student employees.
Librarian Mimi Wheatwind submitted the third-place winner:
Pages flap and print,
turn your back to the window.
Run after wisdom.
Second prize goes to senior Bowen Malcolm:
Another day spent
browsing the basement stacks.
Will winter ever end?
And first prize goes to first-year Melissa Taing:
Stacks of book towers
standing upon senior carrels.
Copies of our annual haiku zine will be available for free at Tutt Library within a week or so. The zine will feature the prize winners plus several other evocative and amusing entries from this year's contest.
