Career and Graduate School Information at Tutt Library

In cooperation with the Career Center, Tutt Library houses a Careers and Graduate School information area. It's located right behind the reference desk. It includes the most current guides for:
* graduate schools
* test prep for the GRE, LSAT, GMAT, MCAT, and others
* career exploration information
* study and working abroad
* internships
* professional schools in social work, law, health professions, and other areas

These materials supplement the resources found in the Career Center in Worner. You can also contact the Career Center at x6893 for a personal appointment.

Need Fun Reading for Spring Break?

Come check out the Current Books Section at Tutt Library. It's right next to the Circulation Desk on the first floor. We have lots of bestsellers, mysteries, science fiction, thrillers, non-fiction, and other entertaining reading to amuse yourself with during the break.

2006 Nobel Prize in Literature awarded

On October 12, the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to the Istanbul-born novelist Orhan Pamuk, "who in the quest for the melancholic soul of his native city has discovered new symbols for the clash and interlacing of cultures". Tutt Library has a number of books by Pamuk.

New Videos and DVDs at Tutt

Did you know that you can get a monthly email list of the new videos and DVDs at Tutt Library? Just subscribe to the TUTTNEWVIDEOS listserv. Go to the CC Listserv page for the list TUTTNEWVIDEOS and enter your email address and password. Every month you will receive an email listing the new DVDs and videos we have added to our collection.

"Request Purchase" form has been malfunctioning

Since the start of block seven, our Request Purchase form has not been working properly (we have now fixed the problem). If you have requested that the library purchase a book or video or other materials using that form in the last four weeks, please re-submit your request.

If you have any questions as to whether we received a request of yours, you can first search the TIGER catalog to see if we already show it as on order. If it is not, please contact your liaison librarian. Our apologies for the problem and any inconveniences it may cause.

New Electronic Journals Available

Tutt Library recently purchased access to three new collections of electronic journals. As part of our membership in the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, we were able to join their consortial arrangements for access to Kluwer/Springer, Sage, and Wiley journals, totaling over 700 titles. These are all listed in our Journal Finder and can be accessed through Tutt Links when searching in our databases.

New Magazine Lounge at Tutt

For your reading and relaxation pleasure, Tutt Library now has a Magazine Lounge in the 2nd floor atrium area. Here we have gathered dozens of popular magazine titles, from the New Yorker to People, from Maxim to Essence. There is also an assortment of local zines. We surveyed students and asked what popular magazines you would like to see at the library, and ordered several new titles, including Outside, Cosmopolitan, Martha Stewart Living, and Vibe. There are comfy chairs to lounge on as you take a quick study break. Watch for a grand opening celebration soon!
