Lunch & Learn Th. 3/9: Investment Club

Buy, Sell, Hold? - Student members of the Colorado College Investment Club will join us for this week's lunch, Thursday, March 9, noon, TLC1. Come find out about the goals of their club, a few of their investment strategies, favorite investment web sites, etc.

Lunch and Learn, Th. 3/ 2: ONLINE MAPS

Love maps? Join us Thursday, March 2, at noon in the Tutt Library TLC1 classroom to learn about some of the many online maps available on the Web.

We'll explore the wonders of Google Earth and Globalis, and also look at availability of local Colorado Springs maps, including interactive orthophotographic maps, crime maps, trails maps, and more.

Join us Tuesday, February 23 at noon in the Tutt Library TLC2 classroom for an introduction to Special Collections.

Find out what's at Tutt Library and nowhere, or almost nowhere, else: manuscript materials, rare and valuable books, clay tablets from 2000 B.C,. and more. Join Special Collections Curator and College Archivist Jessy Randall for lunch and an exploration of the fascinating and surprising resources of these collections. Lunch & Learn Thu. 1/26: Social Software

Social software is not just for finding a date. "Social software" means web-based applications for building community, collaborative work, and having fun. We'll look at examples from MySpace to del.icio.us (sharing WWW bookmarks) to Flickr (photo sharing) to wikis and Writeboard (shared workspace).

Native Americans of the Southwest: Lunch & Learn, Thurs. 11/3

The southwestern U.S. has been home to Native Americans for thousands of years. Would you like to find out more about their culture and history? Maybe you want to find materials to incorporate into classes, papers, or presentations. We will explore information resources on the web and in paper as well as historic sites for you to visit. All about the Learning Commons: Lunch & Learn, Thurs. 10/20

Thursday, October 19th at noon in the Tutt Library TLC2 classroom, Hilary Hoekenga, Paraprofessional for the Crown Faculty Center, will describe the resources available to students, staff and faculty in the Learning Commons.

This renovated space in Tutt Library houses the Writing Center, Quantitative Reasoning tutoring, Disability Services, First Year & Sophomore Advising, the Computing and Advanced Technology (CAT) Lab and the Crown Faculty Center.
