Prospector and Gold Rush down Mon. 12/17

The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries is making changes to the underlying architecture of their website. The Alliance hosts Prospector (the Colorado unified library catalog) and Gold Rush (our journal/article finding service).

Here is the information from the Alliance:

On Monday, December 17, 2007, the Prospector system will not be operational since a network upgrade is planned. Prospector is hosted by the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries and on that day the consortium will be installing a newer higher capacity Internet connection through a new Internet Service Provider (ISP). The outage will start around 8am in the morning and Prospector, along with other services hosted by the consortium, will be out most of the day.

Prospector to be down the morning of 8/24

Prospector will be down on Thursday, August 24 from 8am to noon for a system upgrade.

No Prospector borrowing over winter break

Prospector borrowing and lending is deactivated during winter break, Friday, December 23, 2005 - Monday, January 2, 2006. You may submit Prospector requests on Tuesday, January 3, 2006.

Prospector problems, Wednesday 11/30

The Prospector catalog is currently not working properly. You can search the catalog, but cannot place a request or view the list of libraries that own the book.

The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries is aware of the problem, and is working on a fix. Unfortunately, we do not know when it will be fixed. Please try later today or tomorrow.

UPDATE: Problem solved, Prospector back to normal. Whew.

Prospector service returning to normal

Tutt Library has begun receiving shipments of books from other libraries using the new courier for Prospector. While there may still be a delay for those books and other materials ordered last week that had to be sent via US Mail, all new Prospector requests should be delivered to the library by courier, and we should see the same (fast) delivery times that we had come to expect from Prospector.

New courier found for Prospector

According to the Colorado Library Consortium website, a new courier has been hired to transport Prospector materials.

Service is scheduled to begin next Monday, October 10. It seems logical to assume that it will take some time after that before service returns to the level to which we are accustomed, but, at the moment, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Prospector service drastically cut

The courier that transported Prospector book loans around Colorado has gone out of business. Delivery service ceased today. See the notice from the Colorado Library Consortium.

Prospector loans will travel by mail for the foreseeable future.

When ordering books on Prospector, ALLOW AT LEAST TEN DAYS for delivery.

Please use Prospector and Interlibrary Loan for academic purposes only (class assignments and research). Students should not order assigned texts via Prospector or ILL, as they will not arrive in time.

Other local options (for those with appropriate transportation) include:

• University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
• Pikes Peak Library District (public library)
